US and EU face off over Iranian sanctions

The US and the EU were at loggerheads yesterday over differing approaches to Iran. US Vice-President Mike Pence put pressure on European allies to withdraw from the 2015 nuclear treaty, claiming a “real risk to peace in the Middle East”. He also criticised the UK, France and Germany, for creating a financial mechanism he claims”breaks” sanctions.
