Vatican’s silence on Cardinal’s conviction

The Vatican has refused to give any comment until any appeal process is complete, as Cardianl George Pell, the third highest ranking official of the Catholic Church in Australia, has been convicted of the sexual abuse of two underage boys, in 1996. The sentence comes only days after the Vatican held a four day conference for 190 high-ranking church officials from around the world, to discuss cases of sexual abuse by church staff, which was rounded upon by victims, for yielding “no concrete measures”.
