Cap Roig festival announces top names from home and abroad

The Cap Roig music festival yesterday announced its line-up for its 19th edition this summer. Taking place from July 12 to August 21, the festival will feature 13 acts from abroad and 10 from Spain.

Sting, Ben Harper, Liam Gallagher, and Nile Rodgers are some of the top international artists scheduled to appear, along with Maluma, Luis Fonsi, Diana Krall, Jorge Drexler, and British boy band, The Vamps, who will be presenting their fourth album.

Among the domestic acts playing the festival will be Catalan artists Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Ramon Mirabet, and Álvaro Soler, with Spanish performers Pastora Soler, Rozalen, David Bisbal, Taburete, Vanesa Martin, Aitana and Ainhoa Arteta.

Along with the 23 acts featuring at this year’s festival, will be two family nights with shows for children by illusionist Mag Lari and television’s ‘La Família del Super3.’

The festival kicks off with Latin urban music idol, Maluma, with Basque soprano Arteta bringing the event to a close on August 21.

This year, the festival in the Gardens of Cap Roig, in Calella de Palafrugell, has invested some of its 3.6-million-euro budget in new lighting. According to the organisers, a total of 46,350 tickets will go on sale for the festival from March 4, at an average price of 52 euros.
