Batet to head PSC candidacy on April 28

The PSC Catalan Socialist party yesterday announced its candidates in all four regions of Catalonia, who will stand in the April 28 general election. As expected, the Spanish minister for territorial policy, Meritxell Batet, will once again top the list for Barcelona. PSC party leader, Miquel Iceta, described the election as a “crossroads”, with a choice between “progress and dialogue”, represented by the Pedro Sánchez government, or “regression and conflict”, represented by the three right-wing parties. Under the slogan “The Spain you want”, Batet said PSC is the only party with an “exciting project”. On the candidacy with Batet will be Joan Ruiz (Tarragona), Marc Lamuà (Girona) and Montse Mínguez (Lleida).

Meanwhile, the Catalunya en Comú Podem party will choose its candidates for the election between March 12 and 14, as agreed in the party’s national council held yesterday.
