Pope to open secret Pius XII archives next year

Pope Francis announced yesterday that in March next year he is planning to open the secret Vatican archives relating to the reign of Pope Pius XII (from 1939-1958). Pius was a very controversial figure because of his role during world war II. Some Jewish historians and associations accuse him of not speaking out against the atrocities perpetrated by Nazism.
