Jesuits open investigation into historical abuse

Two former brothers of the Jesuits of Sarrià in Barcelona publicly reported having suffered sexual abuse at the hands of two priests in 1982 and 1984. Almost thirty years on, Enric Masllorenç, general director of Jesuits Education, has announced an investigation to clarify the cases of abuse, which could end up in civil court. According to one of the victims, the trust between the priests and his family made it easier for the brothers to be alone with the priest on day trips, when the abuse took place.
