Trade deficit at its highest in last 10 years

The trade deficit in the United States rose to 621 billion dollars in 2018. This is the highest it has been in ten years, despite President Donald Trump’s policy of commercial protectionism, according to reports released by the department of commerce yesterday. In December, the negative trade balance increased to 59.8 billion driven by the increase in imports and the fall in exports.
