France introduces new tax on internet giants

The French government has unveiled a new tax on internet giants (Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple). The new tax amounts to 3% of the income these companies obtain in France. The government, which expects to obtain about 500 million euro more per year, is planning to “restore fiscal justice” since these large internet companies now pay 14% less tax than small and medium sized companies.
