NTT looking into opening AI centre in Barcelona

Japanese firm NTT Data is looking into setting up its first European Artificial Intelligence centre in Barcelona. The government is now negotiating to secure an agreement with the company, owned by technology giant NTT. Digital policy minister Jordi Puigneró was in Japan yesterday to follow up on contacts made in the Mobile World Congress. The project would see new jobs for high-profile tech workers. The government’s aim is for Catalans to not only be consumers of AI, but also “producers”, said Puigneró.
