University access becoming more equitable

A study conducted on 19 universities in Catalonia, Valencia, the Balearic Islands, Andorra and Northern Catalonia reveals that the economic crisis has helped increase university access among the less advantaged classes, as evidenced by the fact that 40% of students come from homes where parents have a low level of studies. Some inequalities persist, however, and children of families with higher level jobs are overrepresented: 43% on degree courses and 45% on Masters'.
