Superior Court confirms asbestos as carcinogenic

In the 1st such ruling in a court in Spain, the Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) has recognized that the esophageal cancer that caused the death of a worker of the Rocalla factory in Castelldefels was continuous exposure to asbestos in the workplace. The ruling confirms a previous decision appealed by the company, Uralita and the National Institute of Social Security (INSS). The widow may now receive a pension from the company. The man had been an employee of the company for 20 years.
