Erdogan insists Kashoggi 18 be tried in Turkey

Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Wednesday called for 18 Saudi suspects in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi to stand trial in Istanbul, saying all those involved must face punishment. Erdogan insisted, that as the murder took place in Istanbul, the suspects should stand trial in Turkey. Riyadh’s explanations that Khashoggi was killed in a “rogue operation” by security and intelligence members, he indicated, will satisfy neither Ankara nor the international community.
