Study into effects of pollution on babies

A new research project coordinated by the Institute of Global Health of Barcelona (ISGlobal) aims to test how air pollution affects children before and after birth. The researchers involved in the study expect to have 1,200 pregnant women participants, which constitutes a very broad sample. In fact, it will be one of the most complete research projects in the field at an international level. Among other aims, “We want to know how air pollutants affect the placenta,” said study director, Jordi Sunyer.
