CaixaBank to have 800 fewer branches

CaixaBank is planning a radical overhaul of its branch network. Although the number of branches run by the financial giant fell from 5,358 to 4,461 in the whole of Spain between 2014 and the present day, over the next three years, that is by 2021, the bank is planning to reduce the amount by a further 800 branches, including its urban and rural networks. Regarding a possible closure schedule, the group CEO Gonzalo Gortázar, announced that it will be a “calm, gradual and reasonable” process.
