Two records on first day of World Championships

The Hangzhou short-range World Championships in China got off to a good start with two world records broken on the first day of competition. The first was by the Japanese swimmer Daiya Seto, who won the gold medal in the 200 m butterfly with a record of 1:48:24, beating the previous best of 1:48:56, set by South African Chad le Clos in 2013. The second came in the 4x100 m freestyle relay. The US team beat its own record in a great duel with Russia, who also came under the previous record.
