Cyclone Idai’s rampage leaves a thousand dead

The number of people killed by Cyclone Idai in southeast Africa, could reach one thousand, said Filipe Nyusi, President of Mozambique yesterday. Idai got to the coast of Mozambique on Thursday, after passing through Malawi and Zimbabwe. The Zimbabwean president, Emmerson Mnangagwa, was in the UAE and did not return until yesterday, winning him criticism from the opposition.
