Nits de Jazz

Jazz, blues and swing by the sea

Platja d’Aro’s Les Nits de Jazz is one of the most popular summer festivals on the Costa Brava, attracting over 20,000 spectators. The free festival is for all audiences and is committed to supporting artists in the Catalan jazz scene. Despite its name, the Jazz Nights festival is also open to a range of musical styles, from gospel to swing to Broadway musical. This year the festival celebrates its 25th anniversary, during which time it has featured over 100 concerts in an unbeatable beach setting next to the sea.

This edition includes nine top-level concerts that kicked off on July 1 with the Mar Vilaseca Quartet. A week later it was the turn of the Liceu Big Band, while July 15 will see the Broadway Project Orchestra with Mone Teruel and Josep Buforn presenting the show, A Night on Broadway. July 22 will feature Laura Simó, Francesc Capella, Guillermo Prats and David Simó presenting their Perspective on West Side History, with the group of Dutch origin but with Catalan components, Jasper Blom and his Pupils, giving a concert the following week on July 29. The festival’s lineup is completed by leading names from the world of jazz, such as La Vella Dixieland 40+1, the Barcelona Gospel Messengers with their show Dance!, and the Lindy Hoppers Band performing swing of the 1930s and ’40s. The festival comes to a close on August 26 with Lluís Coloma & his Musical Troupe.
