Wine route through Pla de Bages

In the morning:

Heretat Oller del Mas (Manresa)

The Oller del Mas winery is to be found in a privileged area amid the mountains of Montserrat and the Sant Llorenç de Munt i l’Obac natural park, located in a medieval castle that dates back to the 10th century that was restored between 1981 and 2008. The Margenat family goes back many generations and has inherited the values of its predecessors, which it has instilled in its excellent, high quality wines, while showing utmost respect for the environment and the local surroundings.

The Oller del Mas winery has opted for organic production and is certified by the Catalan Organic Production Council. No synthetic chemical products, such as herbicides or pesticides, are used and the winery is committed to the managed use of organic fertilizers produced from compost. Moreover, Oller del Mas’ carbon footprint has been certified, making it the first winery in Catalonia, and the third in the world, with the lowest carbon emissions (0.7 grammes per litre).

The grape harvest is carried out almost entirely by hand, using 15kg boxes to ensure the fruit arrives at the nearby production plant intact.

The 600-hectare estate has 60 hectares devoted to grapes. A range of international grape varieties are grown, such as syrah, merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon, along with native varieties, such as picapoll blanca and negra, mandó, malvasia, samsó and macabeu.

The winery is currently building 30 bungalows integrated into the surrounding vineyards and woods, which will be complemented by a horse riding school, a spa and a nature information centre.

Visits are available all year round.

For lunch:
Restaurant Golf Oller del Mas (Manresa)

The winery also has a restaurant offering traditional Mediterranean cooking alongside more innovative cuisine, all made with high-quality seasonal and local products.

The vegetables served are organic and from the winery’s garden. All dishes are made under the supervision of chef Toni Haro. The restaurant has a daily lunchtime set menu and another at weekends and on public holidays.

The chillout zone has views of Montserrat and is the ideal place for breakfast, an aperitif, or evening cocktails. Evening meals are served on Fridays and Saturdays from June 10.

The restaurant also has special menus for groups, work meetings and celebrations. An all-day bar service is available.
