Cap Roig
From Yatra to Bandini
The Cap Roig festival returns to normal with an impressive international line-up. The festival will start strongly on July 22 with a Latin pop idol, the Colombian Sebastián Yatra and his promised “spectacular” dance show. Proceedings will come to a close on the August 15 bank holiday with one of the festival’s highlights, Rigoberta Bandini, following the success of her feminist anthem Ay, mamá, despite missing out on representing Spain in the Eurovision. Between these two dates, Cap Roig offers its usual packed programme, which includes regulars, the Colombian band Morat, on their third visit to the festival since 2019, Raphael with another chance to see his 60th anniversary tour show, and the two-time Latin Grammy Award-winning Rosario. British musician and former Police frontman, Sting, will also be at Cap Roig in what will be his fifth appearance at the festival since 2011. Visitors to the festival will also get to see one of the most popular American divas, Christina Aguilera, who has not performed in Catalonia since a concert at the Palau Sant Jordi venue in October 2003. But that’s not everything. The festival programme also includes another favourite from Colombia, Camilo, as well as Miki Núñez from Terrassa, who will be making his anticipated debut at the Costa Brava festival. The eclectic line-up also includes homegrown musical talent, such as veteran Catalan band Els Pets (who will be presenting a new album recorded with El Petit de Cal Eril), Joan Dausà, Stay Homas and, for family audiences, Xiula and Dagoll Dagom’s Bye Bye Monstre.
