Funds from BCN’s tourist tax to go to civic officers

Barcelona’s local council has approved spending of €4.4m from the city’s tourist tax. The largest part of the funds, up to €2.5m, will go to civic officers deployed in neighbourhoods where the most foreign visitors are to be found, such as Barceloneta and Sagrada Família. Over a million euros will also go towards the ongoing efforts to detect illegal tourist apartments.
