Families lose 18% of income and 37% of wealth in the crisis

Average incomes of families in Spain fell by 18% during the crisis, dropping from €27,700 in 2008 to €22,700 in 2014, while average wealth fell 37.3% according to a survey into family finances published by Spain's reserve bank. Highest incomes are recorded in families where the head of the house has tertiary studies. Incomes by age group except for those over 64 dropped for all, but the group hardest hit by the crisis are young people whose incomes fell by 22.5%. In terms of wealth, the poorer levels of society saw their wealth decrease by 50% .
