Neus Munté sees no separation of powers

The Generalitat spokesperson, Neus Munté, claimed yesterday that the trial of Francesc Homs for his role in the N-9 vote is evidence of the “lack of separation of powers” in Spain and represents a “new level of intolerance” as well as being a “disgrace to all democrats”. The Minister of the Presidency also cited cases against former president Artur Mas, Carme Forcadell and other elected officials to back her claims. Munté sees the judicial actions and pressure from the state as a persecution of the role of the parliamentary process and democratic debate. Her views were echoed yesterday by the commerce minister Jordi Baiget who sees no coincidence in reports regarding the so-called CiU 3% investigations.
