Egyptian Museum acquires Pharoah Khufu stela

Jordi Clos, a Catalan collector obsessed with ancient Egypt, has purchased an ancient stela from the times of the Pharoah Khufu (2551-2528 BC) in an auction in London. The piece, which is 72 centimetres in height and made of limestone, is full of hieroglyphs and drawings linked to the cult of the powerful Egyptian monarch. It has now been incorporated into the collection at the Egyptian Museum in Barcelona and visitors will find the treasure to be one of the most singular of the 1,200 pieces on display.
