Seven out of 10 students enter preferred courses

More than 46,000 students have pre-enrolled for the coming academic year in public universities throughout the country and 88% of them have already been accepted by the tertiary institutions with almost seven out of 10 (67.8%) being accepted into their prefered course of studies. This is almost exactly identical to figures from last year.

Highest access grades were once again in the fields of sciences with double majors in Physics and Mathematics at the UAB and the Universitat de Barcelona followed by the medical schools at the UAB and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Looking at the overall results by gender, the percentage of passes among females remains slightly higher than for males. A higher proportion of women are attracted to health sciences and men in engineering and architecture.
