New ballet company prepares for debut

Not even the political instability can make the Ballet de Catalunya company (BNC) change its plans. The new dance company, with Leo Sorribes at its head and Elías García and Larissa Lezhnina in charge of artistic direction, will have its first performance in the Centre Cultural de Terrassa, on November 19. The company of 20 ballet dancers has under a month before the BNC Opening Gala, which will feature classical pieces with original dances by Elías García and Italian Raphael Bianco.

Sorribes says the new project is bolstered by talent, effort and enthusiasm, but also said it will need investment to prosper. For the moment, the BNC will be the resident company of Terrassa’s cultural centre.
