Voters remember the violence of October 1

Voters at many of Catalonia’s polling stations yesterday spoke of the memories they had of the violence to which they were subject during the October 1 referendum. In Alcarràs (Segrià), for example, people spoke of twice defending the urns against the Guardia Civil at Lo Casino. In Sant Carles de la Ràpita where 80 people were injured, voters said they were pleased to vote in peace.
