Pro-Activa training refugees to be certified lifeguards

The ONG Pro-Activa, in partnership with Open Arms, both organisations working with refugees, has begun to train 15 undocumented immigrants in Badalona as lifeguards as part of its employment preparation programme. The course provides 450 hours of practical and theoretic training and participants from Iran, Brazil, Honduras, Ecuador, The Gambia, Colombia, The Ukraine and Russia will finish the course as professional, certified lifeguards. With professional certification Pro-Activa believes employers will be more aware of the value of employing refugees.
