Blood donor marathon attracts 8,000
The challenge was for the marathon to pass the 8,000 donor mark and it was a complete success. The blood donor marathon which began on Friday last week, closed yesterday evening at Manresa in a homage to Khaled Khatib, promoter of the Blood Bank in Central Catalonia who died suddenly on January 7. 25% of the donors had not given blood before the Marathon and one in three is a minor. The hospitals which recorded more donors were Hospital Clinic, followed by Sant Pau and Vall d’Hebron.
