Espanyol and Barça draw 1-1 in downpour
The weather did not bode well for good football but the two Catalan teams turned on an interesting duel despite the rain. Espanyol dominated most of the 1st half but in the second half, Barça lifted its game in response to a fine goal from Gerard Moreno, finally drawing with a goal from Gerard Pique off a corner by Messi. There were moments of tension towards the end of play.
