Former mayor of Flix Antoni Sabaté dies at 63
The former mayor of Flix from 1987 to 2003, Antoni Sabate, who was also the PSC MP for Terres de l’Ebre from 1993 to 2003, died on Sunday morning in Tortosa after succumbing to cancer. Brother of the PSC’s Xavier Sabaté, he was elected councillor in 1983 and in 1987 became mayor. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon and a session of the council followed, attended by former mayors.
