Lower power prices and sales contain inflation

January confirmed the natural tendency in moderating prices, due to the arrival of the winter sales. This year, January also saw a significant decline in the CPI in Catalonia of nine percentage points, mainly due to lower prices in the fashion sector which was 15% down on last year’s figures. Lower electricity bills also helped in contrast to the increases recorded at the beginning of last year.
