Inland Revenue payout 5% less than last year

Spain’s Inland Revenue service is expected to pay €1.67 billion in tax returns in Catalonia in 2017, 5.3% less than the previous year. The treasury estimates that 3,556,000 taxpayers will file returns this year (1.14% more than last year), of which 2,249,000 will be eligible for refunds. The tax declaration campaign began this week with the introduction of the new mobile one-click app which has already proved to be popular, with 141,472 contributors filing their returns in the first two days of the campaign.
