Speed involved in 20% of road fatalities
Speed was a factor in 20% of accidents which resulted in fatalities in 2017, and its impact on road accidents increased significantly compared to 2016. As part of the week leading up this year’s Grand Prix, the Mossos d’Esquadra will run a campaign asking drivers to “ease off the pedal” and slow down. The number of fatalities on Catalan roads has jumped by 60% so far this year.
