Lifeline rescue boat still has nowhere to dock
Days after the Aquarius arrived in Valencia with hundreds of migrants, another rescue boat is stranded at sea. The Lifeline, which is carrying over 200 rescued migrants, has been refused safe harbour in Malta and Italy. Malta refuses to take migrant boats, arguing it is too small to cope with the numbers, while Italy has adopted a hardline stance of “not one more” refugee.
