Federer defeated by John Millman and heat

Roger Federer (37), world no. 2 and the player with most Grand Slam titles, yesterday succumbed to a shock defeat against Australian John Millman (29) in the US Open, leaving fans without the anticipated quarterfinal duel between the Swiss and Novak Djokovic, who now has a free path towards the semis. Federer started the match with some consistency and won the first set (3-6) but from then on his game was full of errors - 76 unforced - and he ended up losing three sets in a row (7-5, 7-6, 7-6).
