Road toll reaches 52 in Catalonia over summer

“Speeding, using the phone, not respecting traffic signals, alcohol and drug consumption or not wearing the seat belt leads us to be suicidal and even homicidal on the roads.” This, according to Miquel Buch, Catalonia’s minister of the interior yesterday speaking of the balance of accidents on Catalan road over summer, with a total of 52 deaths, up from last year’s 45, an increase of 16%.
