Catalonia still leader in tourism despite drop
Catalonia received 2.43 million foreign tourists during the month of August, 5% fewer than the same period last year. The National Statistics Institute (INE) data once again places Catalonia as the primary destination for tourists visiting Spain. In fact, 23.9% of visitors to Spain in August chose to come to Catalonia. In the first eight months of this year, Catalonia received 13.4 million foreign tourists, 2.7% fewer than in the first eight months of 2017. The average spend per tourist was €1,140 per stay,
