CEE won’t put together report on child abuse

The Spanish Episcopal Conference (CEE ) is leaving the decision of whether or not to generate reports on cases of child abuse in the hands of each diocese. Its president, Ricardo Blázquez, said yesterday, having just returned from the Rome summit on clergy sexual abuse, that “the CEE does not have the authority over the dioceses to carry out this type of study” and “that each one should do what it deems appropriate”.
