Catalan government starts process for new local laws

Local town and city councils often complain that laws are written behind their backs. In an attempt to remedy this, the Catalan Government has started a process of local authorities participating in the drafting of new local Catalan laws.

The first meeting of the institutional council in charge of the process “GovernsLocals.cat” was held yesterday under the supervision of president Puigdemont, vice-president Junqueras and the Minister of governance, Meritxell Borras, and was the result of months of hard work to reach an initial consensus.
