Music Concerts

It’s going to be a record year in terms of live music at Barcelona’s Olympic complex on Montjuïc, with nearly 60 concerts already announced at the Olympic Stadium, the Palau Sant Jordi arena and the Sant Jordi Club venue. Dozens more concerts are expected to be added in the coming months.

Two names stand out: British band Coldplay are set to achieve a new record by being the first ever artists to fill the Olympic Stadium four times in one week (May 24, 25, 27 & 28), and the Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen, who returns to Catalonia for the first time since 2016 (Apr 28 & 30). In the summer, the iconic venue built for the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games will also hostHarry Styles (Jul 12) and The Weeknd (Jul 20).

The Palau Sant Jordi arena also starts the year with lots of dates already confirmed, such as two concerts by Robbie Williams (Mar 24 & 25) and Elton John (Apr 22 & 23). There will also be a historic debut by The Who, playing Barcelona for the first time (Jun 14). Prior to that, another veteran, Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters, will perform on March 21, and before that, the indoor arena will host Catalan artist, Bad Gyal (Feb 11), while Companyia Elèctrica Dharma celebrate 50 years on April 22. Other dates include Argentine trap singer Duki (Mar 3 & 4), Italian crooner Eros Ramazzotti (Apr 2), fellow Italians Måneskin (Apr 11), US pop rock band Maroon 5 (Jun 16), Alejandro Sanz (Jun 17), Iron Maiden (Jul 18), veteran Spanish singer-songwriter Joaquín Sabina (September 27 and 29), Blink-182 (Oct 4) and Louis Tomlinson (Oct 6).

As for Palau Sant Jordi’s annex venue, the Sant Jordi Club, it will welcome Helloween (Feb 3), Pixies (Mar 9), Quevedo (May 12), Miki Núñez (Jun 30) and ska/Catalan Rumba group La Pegatina (Nov 4).

Beyond Barcelona’s Montjuïc venues, much of the year’s live music schedule will once again be dominated by music festivals, with dates already announced for the Strenes festival in Girona (Joan Dausà and Els Amics de les Arts), Primavera Sound (Kendrick Lamar and Rosalía), Cruïlla (Placebo and Franz Ferdinand), Sónar (Bicep and Fever Ray), all in Barcelona, and the Porta Ferrada festival in Sant Feliu de Guíxols (Ben Harper and Jethro Tull).
