At least 43 soldiers dead in Taliban attack
At least 43 Afghan soldiers were killed yesterday and nine more were wounded in a Taliban attack against a military base in Kandahar province, southern Afghanistan, in the 3rd such attack this week. A suicide bomber detonated a car loaded with explosives against the base located in the district of Maiwand, which was followed by a clash between armed forces and Taliban troops.
