Court of Audits was asked to claim 2m from Puigdemont

Catalan Civil Society (SCC) and Catalan Lawyers for the Constitution have asked the Court of Audits to claim nearly two million euro from former President Carles Puigdemont and his government for the cost of the Catalan referendum, in addition to 87 million more for the cost of sending the Spanish police to prevent it.

In the document, both organizations state that the government made the Generalitat lose two million euro due to the referendum. Recently, the court sentenced former President Arturo Mas and part of his government to pay five million for the 9 November 2014 vote.
