Ombudsman makes air pollution recommendations

The Ombudsman has released a series of recommendations for reducing air pollution in Barcelona and the surrounding area. Rafael Ribó argues for such measures as improving public transport connections between peripheral municipalities and the capital, as well as unifying the criteria for discounts. Ribó claimed such measures will encourage the use of public transport. Yet, the ombudsman also admitted his department has received numerous complaints about the low-emission areas adopted by the authorities.
